The difference lies in the focus: a dentist treats and repairs problems such as cavities and inflammation with a university education, while a dental hygienist focuses on prevention, oral care and gum problems, working together to optimize your oral health.
The treatments take approximately 30 to 45 minutes.
At Hajema Dental Care, we use the GBT method. The GBT method (Guided Biofilm Therapy) is a systematic, minimally invasive dental cleaning method in which the dental hygienist first uses a dye to visualize the plaque (biofilm). This plaque is then removed using an air polisher, a device that uses a combination of warm water, air, and a special powder. Old, hard tartar is then removed ultrasonically or with manual instruments, resulting in a comfortable, painless treatment and healthier teeth.
If it is painful or sensitive during treatment, this can be indicated to explore the options.
We recommend going on average twice a year.
Everyone is welcome from the very first tooth!

Dental hygienists are not covered by basic health insurance. Always check your own insurance and/or whether the dental hygienist is covered.
